9月1日，据报道，雪佛龙正敲定一项协议，拟获得委内瑞拉奥里诺科油带卡拉沃沃地区两座大型油田的运营权，两座油田拥有数十亿桶重油储量。两座油田毗邻雪佛龙与委内瑞拉国家石油公司合资运营的PetroIndependencia项目。
