8月28日，美国司法部与美国缉毒局（DEA）宣布，沃尔玛将支付5000万美元，以和解有关其药房违规配发阿片类药物及其他受管制药物的指控。美国政府称，自2013年6月26日起，沃尔玛部分药房人员明知部分处方医生涉嫌运营“药丸工厂”，仍配发其开具的无效处方；部分药剂师也被指在发现高剂量、重复开具及提前续方等明显风险后仍配发相关药物。
