8月21日，相关报道援引消息人士透露，特斯拉已停止生产其太阳能瓦屋顶产品Solar Roof，并已通知第三方安装商，未来将仅继续提供传统太阳能电池板。其中一名消息人士表示，特斯拉内部已经得出结论，认为该产品在财务上不可行。特斯拉官网的Solar Roof产品页面如今已跳转至太阳能电池板页面，能源业务菜单中也已完全移除“Solar Roof”选项，目前仅显示Solar Panels、Powerwall和Megapack。
