8月16日，湖北宜昌多名游客反映三峡森林野生动物世界，在“狼” 馆但看到的却是狗。
8月17日，园方工作人员回应称，馆内确有一头公狼，母狗系专为配种放入，去年曾成功交配并产下后代；今年再次尝试，需提前三个月同笼培养感情，待适期再进行配种。园方表示，此举已获动物园同意，平时母狗不与狼同笼，仅在配种期放入。
