外媒最新爆料，修正此前流传已久的尼康无电子取景器便携新机传闻，早前消息称尼康将推出一款取消EVF、主打极简机身的全画幅微单，而最新线索推翻该说法。消息显示，这款便携机型内置电子取景器，但机身顶部无传统五棱镜凸起、EVF外置舱体，整机采用扁平化简约造型，设计逻辑对标富士X-E5、索尼α7CII两款热门轻薄机型。
