最近，一条“末日警告”在网上刷屏，提到“8月12日地球将失重7秒，预计造成4000万到6000万人伤亡。”
专家表示这纯属谣言，是借北京时间8月12日夜间至13日凌晨将发生的日全食来制造恐慌。此次日全食的全食带经过格陵兰岛、冰岛和西班牙等地。全食发生时段我国已是夜间，无法直接观测。
