以色列财长、极右翼政治人士斯莫特里赫在8月2日播出的一档播客节目中，竟然声称“根本不存在所谓的‘巴勒斯坦人’，是虚构出来的，旨在对抗以色列”。斯莫特里赫还称，希望以色列征服整个（巴勒斯坦）加沙地带，让犹太人重新定居，以实现所谓“彻底的胜利”。
