“轮椅上的科研战士”王戟：换一种方式前行

他失去了双腿，却说自己“每天都生活在光明之中”；长期接受透析治疗，却始终心系科研进展、学生成长与国家需求。他是“时代楷模”——王戟。

Having lost both legs, he still says he "lives in the light every day". Despite undergoing long-term dialysis, he remains deeply committed to scientific progress, the growth of his students, and the needs of the nation. He is Wang Ji, a recipient of the honorary title "Role Model of the Times".

三十余年来，他深耕高可信软件研究领域，瞄准国家和军队的重大需求，迎难而上。人生遭遇重大变故后，他以轮椅为战位，坚守在国防科研的最前沿。命运改变了他前行的方式，却从未动摇他科技报国、矢志强军的坚定方向。

For more than three decades, Wang has dedicated himself to the field of high-confidence software research, tackling critical challenges in response to the needs of the country and its military. Fate changed the way he moves forward, but never his resolve to serve the country through science and technology and contribute to a strong military.

王戟，现任国防科技大学计算机学院研究员、博士生导师。1983年，不满14岁的他考入大学，从此立志投身计算机科学研究。从少年大学生成长为科研骨干，他将人生中最宝贵的年华奉献给了计算机科学，也献给了国家和军队的需要。

他与团队长期专注于高可信软件技术研究。这条道路理论门槛高、攻关难度大，并不喧嚣热闹。但在王戟看来，科研不应仅仅追逐热点，更要回答一个根本问题——国家需要什么。

Wang is currently a researcher and doctoral supervisor at the College of Computer Science and Technology, National University of Defense Technology. Admitted to university before the age of 14 in 1983, he resolved from the very beginning to devote himself to computer science.

For years, Wang and his team have focused on high-confidence software technology. This is a demanding field with a high theoretical threshold and little public fanfare. But for Wang, scientific research should not merely chase the latest trends. It must answer a fundamental question: What does the country need?

他深刻认识到，军事信息系统如同人体一样，也会“生病”。要保障军事系统安全可靠运行，就必须拥有能够发现软件潜在缺陷的“诊断工具”。为此，王戟带领团队针对不同类型的软件缺陷，从多个分析维度出发，研发出一整套专用诊断工具。

“戟”是一种集矛与戈于一体的中国古代兵器。正如父母所寄予的期望，王戟始终奋战在国防软件研究的第一线，致力于让国防软件更加安全可靠。而他的人生之路，却充满了意想不到的坎坷与挑战。

His given name, Ji, refers to a halberd — an ancient Chinese weapon combining a spear and a dagger-axe. True to the hopes embedded in that name, Wang has always been at the forefront of defense software research, striving to make it more secure and dependable. Yet his own life has been marked by unforeseen hardships.

2013年，一场突如其来的主动脉夹层彻底改变了他的生活。历经抢救与多次手术，他活了下来，却失去了双腿。从此，轮椅成为他新的行动方式。2021年，王戟又被确诊为肾功能衰竭。如今，他每周需进行三次透析，每次长达四小时。

In 2013, a sudden aortic dissection turned his world upside down. After emergency treatment and multiple surgeries, he lost both legs. A wheelchair became his new means of mobility. In 2021, he was diagnosed with kidney failure. Now, he undergoes four-hour dialysis sessions three times a week.

然而，他并未因此放慢脚步，反而更加珍惜有限的时间。重返岗位后，他依旧钻研最前沿的科学问题，也依然将大量精力倾注在学生身上。在透析日的清晨、在会议的间隙、在身体允许工作的每一刻，他回复问题、修改方案、讨论课题，也将自己的信念传递给年轻一代。

Rather than slowing down, he has chosen to make the most of every moment. On mornings when he receives dialysis, during breaks between meetings, and whenever his health permits, he answers questions, revises research plans, discusses topics, and passes on his unwavering convictions to the next generation.

他坐在轮椅上，却从不认为自己被束缚。他所走的路或许比常人更为崎岖，但他坚信：困难可以被克服，哪怕只是部分克服；而每一次战胜困难，都可能打开一扇新的窗户。

Sitting in a wheelchair, he has never seen himself as confined. His path may be more winding than most, but he firmly believes that difficulties can be overcome — at least partially — and that each victory over adversity may open a new window of opportunity.

轮椅改变了他前行的方式，却从未改变他奔赴的方向。随着国防系统加速迈向智能化，王戟和团队已将研究重心转向人工智能的可靠性，致力于让AI更加安全、可信，更好地服务于国家重大战略需求。

The wheelchair changed the way he moves forward, but it never changed the direction he is heading. As national defense systems accelerate toward intelligent transformation, Wang and his team are shifting their focus to the reliability of artificial intelligence. Their goal is to make AI safer, more trustworthy, and better equipped to serve the country's major strategic needs.

尽管已难以亲身参与传统意义上的战争，但王戟说：“我依然能够站在高水平科技自立自强的最前线，用代码铸盾。”

Though he can no longer participate in conventional warfare, Wang says: "I can still stand on the front line of high-level scientific and technological self-reliance, forging shields with code."
