清代到上世纪九十年代，这里是一座地道滇西中式清真古寺。当年只有一座独立八角木宣礼塔，青灰筒瓦、木构飞檐，整座寺院是低矮砖木合院，青砖墙、木格窗，大门还是老式牌坊门楼，搭配照壁石阶，满是老大理的古韵。
