7月23日，故宫博物院官网发布《关于2026年7月27日开放的公告》：
为庆祝北京中轴线申遗成功两周年，满足广大观众文化需求，故宫博物院将于2026年7月27日（周一）免费开放一天。8:30开馆，16:00停止入馆，17:00闭馆。
本次参观仅可通过“故宫博物院”微信小程序进行实名预约，7月24日20:00开始预约大门票和钟表馆、珍宝馆门票，约满即止。参观当日，端门、珍宝馆、钟表馆票务窗口不提供服务。
