当地时间7月22日，美国总统特朗普在社交媒体发文表示，从现在起，只要伊朗在霍尔木兹海峡向船只开火，无论使用导弹、火箭弹、无人机，还是其他装置或武器，美国都将轰炸并摧毁伊朗一座桥梁或发电厂。
