《重庆日报》7月19日报道显示，重庆市委常委刘尚进已任重庆市常务副市长。
6月29日，重庆市第六届人民代表大会常务委员会第二十四次会议决定任命刘尚进为重庆市副市长。

公开信息显示，刘尚进，男，汉族，1970年10月生，大学，文学学士，中共党员。
刘尚进曾任河南省副省长等职。2024年7月，刘尚进任重庆市委常委、秘书长，后兼任政法委书记，至近期履新。
