根据福建省气象台预报，台风“巴威”正逐渐趋向台湾以东洋面，台风“巴威”将于7月10日上午进入台风24小时警戒区，并开始影响外海渔场。
为了防御台风“巴威”，福建海事局提级落实防台风预警响应措施，自7月8日8时起，启动防台风三级应急响应，将泉州以北海域作为防御重点，全力以赴做好各项工作。
