公开简历显示，谢元，男，汉族，1975年6月生，在职研究生学历，法学博士学位，中共党员。
谢元曾任江苏省南京市溧水区委书记，天津市东丽区区长、区委书记等职，2023年任天津市副市长，至此番履新。
