巴西主帅安切洛蒂在赛前表示，内马尔可以出战苏格兰。
内马尔此前曾与苏格兰交手一次，发生在2011年3月，当时内马尔上演梅开二度，帮助巴西2-0击败苏格兰，而这也是他国家队生涯的首个梅开二度。
自2010年8月完成国家队首秀后，内马尔已经代表巴西队出场128次，有79球59助攻进账。
