翠鸟属是佛法僧目翠鸟科中的一属。自额至枕蓝黑色，密杂以翠蓝横斑；背部辉翠蓝色，腹部栗棕色；头顶有浅色横斑；嘴和脚均赤红色。因背部和面部的羽毛翠蓝发亮，而通称翠鸟。
先用深墨勾嘴,圈点眼部和眼角斑纹。
石青色出冠羽。汁绿合石绿色画头部和背羽。复蘸深墨添翼尾，
赭色勾喉部和补上腹面,再以石青色加出腰羽。最后逐一完善细部。
