6月8日中午，中共中央总书记、国家主席习近平乘专机抵达平壤，开始对朝鲜进行国事访问。
朝鲜民众自发在道路两旁挥手欢迎习近平到访。
平壤各界群众和少年儿童身着节日盛装，手持旗帜、鲜花和气球，高喊中朝友好口号，以热烈的掌声和欢呼声向到访的中国贵宾表达最诚挚的欢迎。
