据百度百科记载，王薇薇（Vera Wang）的外祖父吴俊升，系奉系军阀，与张作霖结为兄弟，曾任黑龙江督军。1928年皇姑屯事件中，吴俊升与张作霖一同遇炸身亡。
她的外祖父吴俊升祖籍山东历城，出生于今辽宁省昌图县老城乡长青村兴隆沟的一个贫苦农家。
原来她是东北那嘎达。
