乌克兰国家紧急情况局5月8日表示，切尔诺贝利核禁区发生大火，截至当天上午，过火面积超过1100公顷。起火原因为一架无人机于7日在废弃核电站附近坠毁。乌方未明确透露无人机的来源。乌克兰官方通报称，事发区域辐射水平处于正常范围内，消防人员正全力控制火势。现场画面显示，事发区域升起巨大白色烟柱。
