当地时间5月6日，据美国方面消息，美国官员当日表示，有来自美国三个州的居民目前正接受健康监测，以排查潜在的汉坦病毒感染风险。此前，他们曾搭乘一艘荷兰邮轮，而该邮轮上曾暴发过致死性的汉坦病毒疫情。官员们称，目前所有接受监测的人员均未出现患病迹象。
