据中国地震台网正式测定，5月4日0时55分在河北秦皇岛市昌黎县发生2.8级地震，震源深度19公里，震中位于北纬39.55度，东经119.03度。
震中地形：震中5公里范围内平均海拔约12米。
历史地震：根据中国地震台网速报目录，震中周边200公里内近5年来发生3级以上地震共15次，最大地震分别是2025年7月27日在渤海海域发生的4.4级地震（距离本次震中122公里）和2022年5月11日在渤海海域发生的4.4级地震（距离本次震中153公里），历史地震分布如图。
