英国内政大臣谢巴娜·马哈茂德4月30日宣布，将英国面临的恐怖威胁等级从“高”上调至“严重”级别。
29日，伦敦戈尔德斯格林地区发生一起持刀袭击事件，造成两人受伤。英国警方当天将这起事件定性为“恐怖主义事件”。
英国恐怖威胁等级共分5级，从低到高依次为“低”“中”“高”“严重”“危急”。
