BEIJING, April 23 (Xinhua) -- China has formally submitted comments to the European Commission on a draft revision of the European Union (EU)'s Cybersecurity Act, expressing its official stance and serious concerns, China's Ministry of Commerce said on Thursday.
He Yongqian, spokesperson for the ministry, told a regular press conference that the EU should attach great importance to and seriously consider China's comments and proposed amendments.
"If Chinese companies suffer discriminatory treatment as a result, China can take measures in accordance with its Foreign Trade Law and the State Council's regulations on industrial and supply chain security to safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises," He said.
The spokesperson also reaffirmed that cooperation and dialogue are the right ways to resolve China-EU issues. China stands ready to properly address differences with the EU through consultations and by working together to maintain the stability and smooth functioning of global industrial and supply chains.
