4月8日，重庆垫江县宝鼎山森林公园，漫山野生杜鹃竞相绽放，如霞似锦，吸引众多游客登山赏花、踏青寻春。每年4至5月，因海拔差异，杜鹃次第开放，呈现“半山花海半山绿”的独特景观。
