位于日本东京的缅甸大使馆在为普通缅甸护照办理延期业务时，用于制作护照的设备发生故障。
因此，自3月24日起，无论是通过本人亲自递交还是通过邮寄方式申请的护照延期，均未能在规定期限内完成发放。
此外，大使馆正努力尽快修复故障设备，关于恢复发放护照的具体时间将另行通知。
