3月24日，美国总统特朗普炫耀科威特使用美国“爱国者”防空导弹击落三架美军战机，且美国飞行员成功幸存。他称：他们（科威特）用我们的导弹击落了三架飞机，碰巧击落的是我们的飞机。不过飞行员们都平安无事。飞行员们看到了当时正在发生的事情。他们说，那是“爱国者”导弹，我们逃不过“爱国者”导弹的。
