2月25日下午，据韩国联合参谋本部消息，韩美军方决定于3月9日至19日举行联合军演。
此前，因韩美在缩减联合军演规模问题上未能达成一致，军演计划一度被迫推迟。
与此同时，韩媒还曝出，针对美方提出的韩美日联合空中军演，韩方曾提议“排除日本”。
