宋振祥出生于1980年，早年在胶州市工作，曾任市委办公室研究室主任，市委宣传部副部长、市新闻中心主任，市委宣传部常务副部长，洋河镇党委书记等职。
2022年任平度市副市长，2023年任平度市委常委、市委办公室主任，2024年任平度市委常委、市政府党组副书记、副市长至今。
