1月14日早间，国泰航空在港交所公告，拟进行场外股份回购。卡塔尔航空同意出售或促使出售，而公司同意回购合共643,076,181股的回购股份，于最后可行日期占已发行股份约9.57%，亦为卡塔尔航空目前于公司所拥有的所有股份。每股回购股份的回购价10.8374港元，股份回购的总代价为69.69亿港元。于股份回购完成后，回购股份将转让予公司并作为库存股份持有。
