实现全运会男子自由式摔跤125公斤级“三连冠”的37岁老将邓志伟，已从当年的“小邓”，变成了现在年轻队员口中的“邓哥”“邓教练”“邓指导”。在被问到会不会退役的问题时，他坚定地回答：“再坚持一个周期。”
邓志伟说，“我只是看起来有点沧桑，其实心态还挺年轻的。我也想在下一个全运周期里，把自己多年的经验、技巧传授给年轻队员，为北京摔跤、中国摔跤再做一些贡献。”
