12月9日下午,记者向山姆会员商店客服询问此事。客服表示,感谢关注和反馈,会反馈到相关部门。
Sam's Club apologized on Tuesday over a reported food-safety incident, saying it attaches great importance to product safety and member experience and immediately worked with a professional pest-control firm to conduct a full-chain inspection after receiving the complaint.
The incident drew wide attention on Chinese social media platform including RedNote after a consumer in Shenzhen claimed on Tuesday that a live mouse was found inside a box of mochi purchased from Sam's Club.

另据中新经纬,山姆会员商店方面回应称,山姆高度重视食品安全与会员体验。收到相关反馈后,已第一时间联动专业虫害公司开展全链路核查。
山姆方面表示,山姆一直执行严格的虫害消杀制度。经回溯商品制作、包装、仓库上架、拣货等环节的巡查记录与仓内监控视频,均未发现虫害痕迹或异常。经了解,该订单地址的取货点位于室外。第三方专业虫害技术人员赴取货点现场勘察发现,该地点周边有花木丛,为野生虫害提供了栖息条件,且现场发现相关活动痕迹。综合商品制作、储运环节的虫害检查结果和第三方虫害技术人员鉴定结果,初步判断商品系在取货点放置期间,被周边虫害偶然侵入所致。
目前,山姆已与消费者及时沟通并妥善解决。对于此事件给会员带来的困扰与不便,深表歉意,后续将加强包装管理和配送服务。
In a statement sent to the Global Times, Sam's Club said that it consistently enforces stringent pest control protocols. A comprehensive review of surveillance records and warehouse monitoring footage — spanning product preparation, packaging, shelf-stocking, and order picking — has revealed no signs of pest activity or irregularities.
Upon investigation, it was found that the pickup location for this order is situated outdoors. Third-party pest control specialists conducted an on-site inspection and determined that the surrounding area contains flowering shrubs and trees, which provide habitat conditions for wild pests. Relevant signs of activity were also identified at the site, according to the statement.
Based on a comprehensive analysis of pest inspection from the production and storage-transportation processes, along with the findings of third-party pest control specialists, it is preliminarily concluded that the product was inadvertently infested by pests from the surrounding environment during its placement at the pickup location, it said.
The retailer said it has communicated with the customer and resolved the matter properly. It apologized for the disturbance and inconvenience caused, and said it will strengthen packaging management and delivery services going forward.

It happened after a consumer in Shenzhen shared a daily order experience online. According to the individual involved, on the evening of Monday, the consumer purchased several items via Sam's Club's "Speedy Delivery" service, including fresh milk, orange juice, and a box of 24 Member's Mark original mochi. However, when the order arrived that night in a silver insulated delivery bag, a mouse was found inside alongside the cold-chain products, according to media reports.
