当地时间12月1日，美国商务部下属机构美国国家标准与技术研究院宣布，已与xLight公司签署一份非约束性初步意向书，拟根据《芯片与科学法案》提供最高1.5亿美元的联邦激励资金。拟议激励资金将用于建造、完善及演示自由电子激光（FEL）原型机，该技术可作为极紫外光刻（EUV）的替代方案。美国商务部将获得xLight公司1.5亿美元的股权。
