11月26日14点51分，香港大埔宏福苑的宏昌阁底部外墙棚架冒出浓烟和火光。
14时57分起火6分钟后已延烧至4楼，随后火焰迅速窜升至高层，并随风势波及宏泰阁、宏新阁。
15时02分香港消防处将火警升级为3级 ，宏建阁30楼住户表示：“起火后不到20分钟，宏建阁被火焰波及。”
15时34分香港消防处将火警升级为4级。
18时22分宏仁阁外墙开始被火焰波及。香港消防处将火警升级为5级。
截至11月27日傍晚，7栋大楼火势基本受控。
