Accountant, Cash Application

China Cash Application team cover whole related work of CN and APAC, is responsible for cash application work of bank and payment gateways, work with cross-functionality to drill down to business to apply cash application correctly, drive automation process, and handle monthly closing and reconciliation.

Responsibility:

• Gain a deep understanding of business operations with strong collaboration skills to drive process improvements.

• Strong focus to continuously drive process automation, drill down to business, develop automation logic and minimize manual posting.

• Monitor cash application auto posting including bank and payment gateway. Work with IT and business to investigate and resolve the root cause of issues.

• Perform manual cash application posting, work with cross-functionality to drill down to business to ensure account posting accuracy.

• Ensure account posting to correct customer ledger and reservation number, collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve and minimize issues.

• Handle monthly closing to meet deadline and complete reconciliation in time.

• Start from bank and payment gateway transactions, sort out the process for multiple business scenarios, automate whole process and make the accounting treatment more accurate and clearly.

• Monitor payment gateway charge, work with cross-functionality for expense saving.

• Support new market, new entity, new business type set up, provide professional input to ensure business develop smoothly.

• Support system upgrade, proceed UAT testing, provide valuable input for system set up and enhancement such as AR subledger, Bank subledger, etc.

• Ensure all behaviors meet the requirement for SOX compliance. Support for internal and external audit, provide the sufficient supporting and meet the deadline.

• Other ad hoc tasks for cash application related.

MUST

• 0-3 years of professional accounting experience, Big Four Audit experience or Inhouse finance experience preferred.

• Global support experience/exposure; Good command of working English.

• Bachelor or above degree, ACCA or CPA in training preferred.

• Ability to analyze financial data.

PREFERRED

• Proficient with MS Office applications with in-depth knowledge of MS Excel and other applications.

• A good team player who is also pro-active, meticulous and able to work under tight deadlines.

• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Fast learner with strong communication skills.

Tesla is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Tax Specialist to join our tax team in Beijing. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting tax compliance activities and assisting in tax operations and advisory matters for Tesla’s entities in China. This role plays a key part in ensuring the company’s adherence to local tax regulations and contributes to the effective management of tax risks and opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

Tax Compliance

• Oversee and execute regular tax compliance obligations for assigned entities, including but not limited to monthly Value-Added Tax filings, quarterly Corporate Income Tax (CIT) and Stamp Duty filings, and annual CIT filings.

• Prepare and organize all necessary documentation and forms required by Chinese tax authorities in support of compliance activities.

• Establish and maintain strong relationships with local tax bureaus.

• Manage tax assessments and audits conducted by tax authorities, ensuring timely and accurate responses.

Tax Operations and Advisory

• Provide tax support for business development, including tax registration for newly established entities, and management of daily Fapiao operations such as increasing VAT Fapiao limitation.

• Review contracts from tax perspective and respond to tax-related inquiries from internal stakeholders across various departments.

• Coordinate with tax authorities to apply for applicable preferential tax policies and support tax planning initiatives as required.

• Participate in and contribute to tax automation aimed at improving efficiency and controls.

Position Requirements:

• A bachelor's or master’s degree in Taxation, Finance, or Accounting is preferred; professional qualifications (e.g., Certified Tax Agents, Certified Public Accountant) are a plus.

• Strong written and spoken proficiency in both Chinese and English.

• 3–5 years of relevant tax experience in a reputable multinational corporation, Big Four accounting firm, or professional tax firms.

• Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and perform effectively under pressure.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

THE ROLE

RESPONSIBILITIES

Cost Management:

• Analyze manufacturing cost and lead variance analysis.

• Identify and execute cost-saving initiatives (e.g., energy efficiency, scrap reduction) to improve gross margins.

Financial Planning & Reporting:

• Develop and maintain rolling forecasts for manufacturing operations, including headcount, overhead, and CapEx.

• Prepare monthly/quarterly financial reports for regional leadership, highlighting risks and opportunities.

Capital Projects:

• Evaluate major CapEx decisions, including expansion plan, automation project, and make or buy analysis.

• Oversee manufacturing investment portfolios, ensuring alignment with Tesla’s financial targets.

Cross-Functional Partnerships:

• Lead cross-functional teams to execute cost-reduction projects.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Engineering or equivalent professional experience.

• 2-5 years of experience in big 4 accounting firms, Financial Management Program, or FP&A in manufacturing industry, ideally in automotive sectors.

• Fluency in English and Mandarin; multi-cultural communication skills are essential.

• Strong analytical skills and ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.

• Proficiency in financial modeling and tools like Power BI/SQL is a plus.
