在接受B/R Football的采访时，马克莱莱被问到自己最想和哪位现役球员一起踢球，他表示，
当被问到最想和哪位现役球员一起踢球时，马克莱莱说：“姆巴佩，我觉得他也会愿意和我踢球，他会进更多球，因为和我踢球不需要防守(笑)，还有维尼修斯也是。”
马克莱莱在2000年夏窗加盟皇马，之后，他代表球队出场145次，打进2球并且送出了8记助攻，帮助球队赢得一座欧冠冠军、一座洲际杯冠军、一座欧超杯冠军，两座西甲冠军和两座西班牙超级杯冠军。
