10月10日下午，斯诺克西安大奖赛16进8的比赛里，五虎之一的“魔术师”墨菲打出顶级状态，5-0横扫凯伦-威尔逊。
在整场比赛里，墨菲完全掌控了局势，打出了单杆74、141、133、84、84分。
威尔逊几乎没有上手的机会，一个球都没打进，前四局均是0分收场，仅在最后一局的比赛里收获了6分罚分。
墨菲将在1/4决赛对阵丁俊晖和奥利弗-莱恩斯的胜者。
