据日本气象部门消息，当地时间8月28日4时53分左右，位于鹿儿岛县和宫崎县交界地区的新燃岳火山喷发，火山灰柱最大高度达5500米。随后，新燃岳火山在当地时间5时23分再次喷发，火山灰柱最大高度达4500米。
新燃岳火山属于活火山，位于日本九州南部的雾岛山中部。2018年6月，新燃岳火山曾发生大规模爆炸性喷发。（总台报道员 柏春洋）
