日前，有网友咨询：“地铁1号线国庆节前能开通吗？”东莞轨道交通局介绍，目前市轨道交通1号线高架段及地下段结构已全部贯通，车站装修及机电设备安装已进入收尾阶段，全线已进入空载试运行阶段，预计2025年底全线开通试运营。1号线一期工程，途经望牛墩、洪梅、道滘、万江、南城、东城、大岭山、松山湖、大朗、黄江。
