二道桥大巴扎可追溯至清末光绪年间，而二道桥的前身是建于乌鲁木齐河支流二道湾上的南北走向的木桥，桥长2米、宽4米。因丝绸之路贸易兴盛，自19世纪末逐渐发展为繁华市场，至20世纪初成为乌鲁木齐重要商业中心。如今，二道桥大巴扎占地近四万平米，商品琳琅满目，夜市灯火辉煌，精彩的歌舞表演吸引八方游客，是新疆旅游名片，享有“新疆之窗”美誉。
