在来到协和之前,我在体制内的学校度过了大半个初中。每天基本都是在重复不断的刷题与考试中度过,成绩几乎成了衡量一切的标准。我很少被问:“你喜欢什么?你擅长什么?你想成为什么样的人?”更多时候,排名和分数定义了我的一切,每个学生身上不一样的光被忽视了。在那样的环境里,我变得越来越沉默,也越来越不敢表达自己。久而久之,我开始怀疑自己的价值,怀疑努力是否真的有意义。

所以,当我带着不安和期待来到协和,第一次坐进一个鼓励提问的课堂、第一次被老师认真听完我完整表达的观点、第一次在活动中被信任去领导一个团队,我才真正意识到——原来学习本不该只是压抑、服从和重复,它也可以是探索、创造和连接的过程。

Before coming to WUIS, I spent most of my middle school years in the traditional Chinese education system. Every day was filled with endless worksheets and exams, and academic performance seemed to be the only measure of worth. Rarely did anyone ask me, “What do you love? What are you good at? What kind of person do you want to become?” Most of the time, teachers focused solely on rankings and scores, ignoring the unique light that each student carried. In such an environment, I grew increasingly silent, and gradually lost the courage to express myself. Eventually, I began to doubt my own worth—and whether all the effort I was putting in was truly meaningful.

So when I came to WUIS, full of uncertainty and expectation, I still remember how it felt to sit in a classroom that encouraged questions, to be truly listened to by teachers for the first time, and to be trusted to lead a team in an activity. It was then that I realized—learning isn’t supposed to be just about pressure and obedience. It can be about discovery, creativity, and connection.




在协和,我遇见了一群温暖而真诚的同学。他们在小组合作中耐心倾听、鼓励我发言。课间我们会一起聊天、开玩笑,互相分享兴趣,渐渐地,他们从“同学”变成了“朋友”,再变成了“很重要的人”。正是这种归属感,慢慢帮助我重建了自信。我开始敢于表达自己的想法,也愿意尝试站在更大的舞台上承担责任,比如担任模拟联合国社团主席,组织会议,带领团队。

协和的老师也始终在我成长的路上提供坚定支持。我清楚地记得,很多老师们在我犹豫是否要申请剑桥的时候,给了我很多的自信与关心,提醒我不要害怕去冒险,并在我准备申请和面试的时候,给了我很多的帮助和情绪价值;我的升学指导老师,在我焦虑自己能否被梦校录取时,一遍遍陪我梳理文书,帮我找到自己的定位。

协和的课程体系也带来了我前所未有的学习体验。IB鼓励我们思考“知识从何而来”,让我第一次意识到,学习不仅是为了考试,而是为了理解世界。在课程项目中,我写下第一篇跨学科论文,探索广告语言如何强化性别刻板印象,从此开启了我对社会议题的关注,也让我更加确信自己想走一条与社会责任和商业相关的道路。

At WUIS, I met a group of warm and genuine classmates. They listened patiently during group discussions, encouraged me to speak, and shared their interests with me during breaks. Gradually, they became more than classmates—they became friends, and then, some of the most important people in my life. This sense of belonging slowly helped me rebuild my confidence. I started to express myself freely and take on more responsibility, such as becoming the President of the Model United Nations club, organizing conferences, and leading our team with pride.

The teachers at WUIS have always been a source of strength along my journey. I vividly remember how many of them gave me courage and encouragement when I hesitated about applying to Cambridge. They reminded me not to fear risk, and during the application and interview process, they supported me both academically and emotionally. My university guidance counselor also worked closely with me, patiently revising my personal statements over and over, helping me define my direction and values.

WUIS's curriculum also provided me with a learning experience like never before. The IB program encouraged us to ask, “Where does knowledge come from?”—and for the first time, I realized learning isn’t just for exams, but for understanding the world. One of my interdisciplinary projects explored how advertising language reinforces gender stereotypes, which sparked my interest in social issues and confirmed my passion for social responsibility and business.


在协和老师与升学指导的帮助下,我有幸参加了宾夕法尼亚大学沃顿商学院的夏校项目 Leadership in the Business World(LBW)。这个项目一共三期,每期仅有约120名来自全球的优秀学生,竞争非常激烈。感谢UGC老师在申请阶段为我提供的建议和帮助,让我顺利拿到录取并在暑期迎来了一段极其宝贵的学习经历。

在LBW的三周里,我们每天跟随沃顿MBA的老师学习真实的本科商业课程内容——包括企业外部环境分析、战略制定与竞争力模型等。每周还有两场嘉宾讲座,其中让我最难忘的是最后一次,由沃顿商学院的院长亲自来为我们讲述她的人生故事与对商业教育的理解,她特别平易近人,也让我感受到领导者真正的力量。我们还一共分析了六个由哈佛商学院提供的真实商业案例,阅读量大、讨论节奏紧凑。最终,我们的团队在Case Competition中获得前三名,那些和队友一起在下课后奋战,在宿舍里改PPT到凌晨的时光,成为了我记忆中闪闪发光的一部分。

除了学术拓展,我也积极参与了各类活动与竞赛。在NEC全国经济挑战赛和SIC股市投资挑战中,我不断锻炼时间管理和团队合作能力,尝试平衡IB课程学习与拓展课外知识的时间安排,最终晋级全球站并获得奖项,这种成就感和团队成就感至今仍让我激动。与此同时,我加入了学校的首届TED Youth活动,担任负责人之一和演讲者,这也是我第一次真正把“讲故事的力量”落地成一场完整的校园演出。

我一直认为,一个人的成长不应只被成绩或录取决定。我更愿意记得自己曾为社区付出过的时光。过去三年,我持续参与百千万志愿者活动,在校园和社区范围内布展、宣讲关于肺结核和艾滋病的知识,也发起了陪伴孤独症儿童的“星星”项目,每周组织志愿者进行对自闭症儿童的艺术、音乐陪伴。这些经历让我学会了真正的“团队合作”和“共情”,让我知道,原来我们可以用自己的力量,为他人带来一点温暖。

With support from my teachers and college counselor, I was fortunate to attend the Leadership in the Business World (LBW) summer program at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School. The program consisted of three sessions, each with around 120 outstanding students selected from all over the world. It was incredibly competitive, and I’m deeply thankful to my UGC counselor for guiding me through the application process and helping me seize this precious opportunity.

During the three weeks of LBW, we took daily lectures with Wharton MBA instructors on topics such as corporate strategy, external environment analysis, and competitive advantage. We also had two guest lectures each week—the final one was given by the Dean of Wharton herself, who shared her life story and insights into the future of business education. She was incredibly kind and approachable, and left a lasting impression on me about what it means to be a true leader. We also analyzed six real business cases from Harvard Business School, each with more than 20 pages of reading and fast-paced in-class discussion. At the end of the program, our team placed in the top three in the Case Competition—those nights of staying up late in our dorms, editing slides and preparing presentations, became some of my most cherished memories.

Besides academics, I actively engaged in competitions and activities. In the National Economics Challenge (NEC) and the Stock Investment Competition (SIC), I trained my time management and teamwork skills, balancing IB coursework with extended learning. Eventually, I advanced to the global rounds and won many awards, and the sense of accomplishment and team spirit I felt still excites me today.

I’ve always believed that a person’s growth shouldn't be defined by scores or admissions. What I value more are the moments I gave back to my community. For the past three years, I’ve participated in tuberculosis and HIV awareness campaigns, organizing exhibitions and giving presentations on campus and in the local community. I also founded the 'Stars project', through which I recruited student volunteers to accompany children with autism through weekly art and music activities. These experiences taught me the meaning of teamwork, empathy, and responsibility—and showed me how our small actions can bring warmth to others.







申请季是一段很特别的旅程。感谢升学指导老师在文书写作上陪我反复打磨,也感谢自己在迷茫时没有轻易放弃。我还记得初二准备转学那天,下着雨,我坐在车里听着《Fifteen》,想着十五岁的自己即将要离开自己熟悉的学校,进入到一个崭新的环境,那个不知所措的日子仿佛就在昨天;一转眼,现在我已经完成了所有大学申请。时间太快,快得令人发怔。但也正是这些年拼命的学习、经历的挑战与分别、所有痛苦与欢笑,共同塑造了现在的我。这些苦乐参半的经历让我明白,大学录取只是人生路上的一个节点,无法定义我,也无法定义任何人。

我就是我自己最好的答案。

不管未来会在哪个国家、哪所大学,我都希望自己能继续追逐内心的热爱,做自己相信的事,做到最好做到出色。不要害怕失去和分别,因为失去的每一样东西,其实都是我前进的一步。

ED申请结束后,我过上了理想中的生活。每天有free lesson,可以去图书馆、和朋友聊天、一起学习;中午阳光好的时候,我们会在操场散步。晚上回家看看电影、撸撸猫、看看书,一天就又结束了。

身边的人依旧那么温柔,爸妈一如既往地支持我,朋友们每天都带来快乐。我在爱和温暖中,被生活轻轻拥抱着。

这段时间,我慢慢学会爱自己,也更懂得生活的意义。

未来的日子,无论在哪,我都会继续走在成为“更好的自己”的路上

The college application season was a deeply personal journey. I’m grateful to my counselor for helping me revise every essay draft, and even more grateful to myself—for not giving up in moments of doubt. I still remember sitting in the car on a rainy day, listening to Taylor Swift’s Fifteen, thinking about my fifteen-year-old self, leaving the old school and entering a brand new environment. It felt like just yesterday—and in the blink of an eye, I had submitted all of my college applications. Time moves so quickly, it’s almost surreal. But it was those years of hard work, the challenges, the farewells, the pain, and the joy that shaped who I am now. These bittersweet experiences reminded me that college admissions are just one moment on a long road. They don’t define me—nothing can define me, except myself.

You knew you got the best story.

I am my own best answer.

You knew you got the best story.

No matter where I end up—what country or which university—I hope I will always chase what I love, do what I believe in, and do it with excellence. I won’t be afraid of loss or parting ways, because everything you lose is a step you take.

After submitting my ED application, I began living the life I had dreamed of. Free lessons during the day meant more time for the library or talking to friends. On sunny days, we’d walk around the schoolyard at lunch. Evenings were for movies, cats, books, or simply resting—each day ending in peaceful satisfaction.

The people around me remain gentle as ever. My parents have continued to support me unconditionally, and my friends bring me joy every day. I am wrapped in love and warmth, softly embraced by life.

During this time, I’ve slowly learned to love myself—and to understand what it means to truly live.

head first, fearless.

In the days ahead, no matter where life takes me, I will keep moving forward, becoming the best version of myself, head first, fearless.
