当地时间16日，美国国家飓风中心表示，飓风“埃林”（Erin）已增强为五级飓风，最大持续风速高达每小时160英里（约合257公里）。
根据美国国家飓风中心的标准，飓风分为五个等级，分别为一级、二级、三级、四级和五级飓风，对应的最高风速逐级增强。（央视记者 许弢）
