沃特森表示：“如果我只是出手5次，这5次全部命中，加上罚球我会得到14分。14分对我们球队来说已经很棒了，因为约基奇会拿30分、穆雷会贡献25分，小波特（已被交易）会拿18分，还有戈登，我就是尽我所能去打得高效。”
上赛季，沃特森场均8.1分3.4篮板1.4助攻。
