The 2025 South China Sea fishing season will kick off on August 16. At that time, tens of thousands of fishing boats, neatly docked at the Zha Po fishing port on Yangjiang’s Hailing Island, will set sail for the vast ocean to begin a new season of fishing and aquaculture.
Yangjiang, known as the "Fishing Capital of South China Sea," boasts abundant fishery resources, including the two national-level central fishing ports of Zha Po and Dong Ping.
The press conference for the 23rd South China Sea (Yangjiang) Fishing Season held on August 8, announced that this year would see the highest number of fishing boats participating in the event.
