印尼鹰航7月21日披露，正与几家潜在融资方磋商购买波音飞机事宜。鹰航和波音还在审查符合细分市场的飞机规格，包括交付时间表。文件称，此次飞机采购计划是鹰航通过业务转型进行重组计划的长期战略举措之一，重点是未来五年加强机队建设并优化网络。
印尼经济统筹部长艾尔朗加同日表示，鹰航仍在与波音就购买50架飞机谈判，尚未达成任何协议。
