7月16日，针对向佐被曝欠赌债百万未还的消息，向佐工作室发文回应称美高梅已做解释。工作室同时贴出澳门日报报道，其中刊登了美高梅中国的说明：“本次向佐先生被牵连事宜，源于向先生为第三方提供的信用担保。由于欠款逾期未还，美高梅亦相应启动正常法律程序处理相关事宜。目前所有款项已全数清还，相应法律程序亦已终止。”
