7月15日，东亚杯第三轮，中国男足对阵中国香港男足的比赛里，黄政宇首开纪录。
在比赛第20分钟，中国队前场打出精妙配合，黄政宇前插到了禁区右侧，一脚低射打远角得手，为国足取得领先。
这是黄政宇个人在国家队的第一个进球，也是他在国际A级赛事里的第一个进球。
此前，28岁的黄政宇已经为中国男足出战6次，这是第7次为国出战。
