据此前报道，瓦兰丘纳斯与掘金队的合同是两年约2040万美元（1039.5万美元、1000万美元）。最初第二年无保障，后转为保障。
瓦兰一度想放弃这份合同去加盟帕纳辛纳科斯，但在与掘金管理层沟通后，改变了主意。
