当地时间7月9日，法国总统马克龙在英国进行国事访问期间，与英国首相斯塔默在位于伦敦唐宁街10号的首相府会面。
当地时间8日，法国总统马克龙开始对英国进行为期三天的国事访问。这是2008年以来法国总统首次访英，也是自英国脱欧以来欧盟国家领导人首次访英。
英国政府曾表示，希望在脱欧后“重建”与欧洲邻国的关系。（总台记者 杨兢兢）
