2016年林允因在周星驰执导的电影《美人鱼》中饰演女主角珊珊走红，成为新一代“星女郎”。出道后，每年都发文为周星驰庆生。2023年林允被曝与周星驰公司合约已到但没续约，两人长达8年的合作告终。（潮新闻）
