5月12日，腾讯宣布微信、QQ地震预警功能更新，四川以外的地区也能开启这个功能，地震预警功能正式覆盖至全国。
此外，该功能新增强预警通知，当发生可能造成破坏性影响的地震时，则会进入强预警通知，用户会收到更加强烈的全屏弹窗提醒，并进入声音播报倒计时。
强预警通知当前仅支持安卓系统手机，iOS系统待解锁。
